Dreamy Villa del Balbianello Engagement Session and Adventurous Sunset Sail in Lake Como, Italy

Chris and I were planning a trip to Italy in the fall (personally my favorite time of year in this beautiful country). The main purpose of this trip was to capture a stunning elopement at Villa Castelletto in Tuscany, or more specifically in Sinalunga, Italy. The wedding was absolutely stunning and gave us memories with an amazing couple and their closest friends and family that we will cherish for a lifetime (this will be my next blog post- stay tuned!).

After we had booked our one-way airfare to capture the wedding, we started planning where else we would go, and new places we wanted to shoot and explore while we were in our favorite country in the world. The TOP of our list for our second time in this mesmerizing country was Sardegna (more on this beautiful Italian island later), and of course- the famous Lake Como. We had been to Lake Como before, but we wanted to travel slowly and really experience all that it had to offer, the great food, stunning views of mountain tops, and experiences like renting a beautiful vintage wood boat and cruising around the lake for a sunset.

When we found out that some of our best friends were going to be traveling here, too, AND that our friend Alex was planning on proposing while they were on their Italy trip, we just knew we needed to capture all of it. It started with their beautiful, surprise proposal in the pouring rain at Passo di Giau in the Dolomites (another upcoming blog). After the celebration of the proposal, we knew that engagement photos had to take place at none other than Lake Como.

We booked the cutest airbnb in the town of Bellagio, Italy, and after taking a ferry ride and exploring other little towns for a few days, we decided to capture engagement photos at Villa del Balbianello, as well as on a little private boat with Lake Como Boat, where we sipped champagne and watched the sunset for hours on end.

To say this experience was a dream would be a complete understatement. Scroll through to see the most beautiful memories made with great friends, surrounded by just a small piece of the beauty that Italy has to offer itโ€™s visitorsโ€ฆ
